Available bedroom with shared bathroom in a 3 bed/2 bath apartment in the Shady Grove area of Rockville, MD, <10 minute walk to the Shady Grove metro station. The community is quiet, safe, and homey, with a lot of families with kids and young... professionals with dogs that you'll often see strolling the sidewalks. A 5 minute walk also to the King Farm shopping center, which has a Safeway, an urgent care, some restaurants including nicer spots and fast casual, and some other businesses.

The room itself is a bit small, but is in good shape and has a solid storage space and a big window. The living area and kitchen of the apartment are more spacious. With utilities included, your total expenses will reliably be under $1k—a great deal for the area! Shared spaces are already fully furnished and with a fully equipped kitchen, but the bedroom is unfurnished, save certain furniture pieces you could inherit from the outgoing roommate if you choose. Here, you would have two roommates (3 if you include the cat!). I'm an MSW student at Shady Grove, and the other roommate, Ambrose, is a banker. We're both in our twenties and are queer/trans, and we like our home to be a quiet, cozy nest. We both will sometimes have a friend or two over, but aren't interested in hosting big parties. The cat is named Missy—she's ten years old and a bit timid, but very affectionate and well-behaved. Because she is timid, I would only consider an additional cat or dog if it was also a senior and very mellow, fee would be $45/month.
